Rav Mordechai Elon

Our parsha deals with the holiness of the kohanim in two parts – the first, the laws of disabled or maimed priests who are unable to work in the temple, but are able to eat certain sacrifices and tithes. In the second part, the Torah teaches us that impure kohanim must not offer or eat sacrifices. This part ends with the law that non-kohanim must also not eat holy sacrifices

We usually see these laws as being relevant only when the temple is standing – but, as we try every week, we will show how the Torah is relevant always – and how these laws relate to our own lives
